Hello!
Nestled in the heart of Hawker ACT, we are a little team operating a home based licensed kitchen where we handcraft small batch churros for the local community.
We started humble, baking and selling donuts in Canberra's south for 4 years until life, and a change of scenery, saw us shift gears and move to the North.
A new location, called for something fresh. So we set an impossible challenge could we make churros even better and different (like, churros are incredible - so is that even possible)?
After months trialling and testing recipes - we nailed something that's totally different, but also pretty amazing.
We can do churros up for your special occasion, whether it's a wedding, birthday, or community event. If you need to reach out to us, Kelly will be happy to answer your questions.
Churro info
Our churros are ridiculously easy to eat. They are small, but substantial, and we recommend 2-3 for little kids and 4-6 for adults. They are a little chewy so for very little kids you may want to cut them up.
Our churros just happen to be vegan and contain gluten and small amounts of soy. They may contain traces of dairy, peanuts and tree nuts. Our sauces contain dairy except for the two vegan sauces denoted with (v). Our glazes can be made vegan, or regular.
The churros are definitely made to be eaten on the day they are made, and from fried they last up to 6 hours. We don't recommend reheating, but if you do, no more than 10-15 seconds in the microwave (they get hot, so be careful!). The sauce containers are not suitable for the microwave or heating.
Delivery is restricted at this stage to suburbs in the Hawker region, but we are looking to expand soon! For large orders ($50+) we can do a special delivery outside the Hawker area and can be made upon request by emailing: contact@chewychurro.com.au
